Choir Director, Rebecca Heath Miller, is a professional opera singer who has been singing in choirs at every stage of her life—from Houston Children’s Chorus to various choirs at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, to choirs at UT Austin, University of St. Thomas, and various church choirs. She has also sung as a soloist for the Houston Chamber Choir. With several years of experience teaching choir to both homeschool and public school students, Mrs. Miller has a lot to offer students at any age level.
In Children’s Choir, students age 7 to 12 will sing and perform hymns, folk songs, and other classic choral works. Students will learn the basics of vocal technique, sight-reading, and music theory, along with musical games. The program will focus on music appreciation, fun, and the glorification of God through music. Choir class will meet weekly and choir students will participate in special performances once or twice a year.
