Application Supplement 2023-2024

If admitted to BHSC, I understand that I, as a parent, will be expected to participate actively on-site up to 16 hours per semester, to read selected passages with the BHSC parent community over the course of the year, and to attend 3 to 5 parent meetings during the year.

In order to serve as a volunteer working with children on-site, I understand and agree that I will be required to participate in child protection training seminars and that a background check will be conducted.

I and my children believe and affirm the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed in its entirety (with or without the filioque—”and the son”):

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible;

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all worlds, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by Whom all things were made:

Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And the third day He arose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, Whose Kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, and Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father [and the Son], Who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, Who spoke by the Prophets.

And I believe in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins. I look for the Resurrection of the dead and the Life of the world to come. Amen.

I understand that BHSC adheres to and upholds biblical teaching on both doctrine and Christian behavior and looks to major branches of Christianity in interpreting the Bible’s teachings. Generally, BHSC adheres to Christian teachings in areas where the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the USA, the Southern Baptist Convention, the Presbyterian Church of America, and the Anglican Church in North America agree with each other in interpreting and applying God’s word and revelation. I agree to uphold these principles as a member of the BHSC community.
