Mr. Daniel Broadwell
History Professor, HCU Dual-Enrollment
Daniel Broadwell decided he wanted to teach history to high-schoolers when he himself was a junior in AP U.S. History in Georgia. He studied history, business, and Bible at Florida College with the vision of teaching school and also preaching and teaching the Bible in a local congregation. After teaching fifth grade in Oklahoma for a couple years, he decided to focus on preaching and moved to Texas to complete an internship with the Kleinwood church of Christ in Spring. In 2016, he began working full-time with the Bellaire church of Christ as preacher and Bible teacher, and continues serving in that role. After completing his Masters of Liberal Arts at Houston Baptist University in 2019, he began teaching in The Academy at HBU, finally realizing his dream of teaching history to high-schoolers! Daniel and his wonderful wife, Elizabeth, have two precious children: Asher (born in 2020) and Lucy (born in 2022).
