Mr. Edmund Carroll
Instructor of Latin, Life Science & Nature Journaling
A native born Houstonian, Edmund was brought up in a family dedicated to the liberal arts. Reading and writing Classical Greek and Latin are two of Edmund’s intellectual hobbies, having studied both languages for many years. Inspired by the works of Plato, Aristotle, Thucydides, J.R.R Tolkein, C.S. Lewis, and Henryk Sienkiewicz, Edmund has pledged his life to the education of others. Revealing to people the beauty of the natural world is a particular passion of his; as such he has given numerous Natural History presentations over the years to persons of all ages and backgrounds. In keeping with the classical association between a healthy mind and a healthy body, he enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities—such as archery, hiking, fishing, birdwatching, sports, and natural navigation. He also loves to read books, draw, and spend time with his family and friends.
Mr. Carroll is currently finishing his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at the University of Houston’s Honors College, and he also works part time at Western Academy, a liberal arts school for boys and his middle school alma mater. An altar server at Holy Rosary Catholic Church for over eight years, Edmund also participates in many activities run by Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church.
