Mrs. Erinn Vahlkamp
Instructor of Art
A native Texan from the Sugar Land area, Erinn Vahlkamp has several years of experience both making and teaching art in various settings. She has taught art at the Sugar Land Art Center, in a youth group setting, and in co-op classes. She started Art Days to create a space for faith and the beauty of art during her time co-leading for two years as a volunteer youth minister with her husband Win. Erinn has had the opportunity to teach summer camps at Sugar Land Art Center and also to teach art for the St. John Vianney homeschool co-op.
In addition to teaching art, Erinn has continued her art education through classes and mentorship from a local artist over the last nine years. In more recent years she has taken several Byzantine icon workshops taught by Father Elias Rafaj and has found a passion and calling for the ancient art of iconography. Some of the art she loves creating are painting with acrylics, palette knife painting, still life drawing and painting, encaustic art, mono printing, mixed media, and writing Byzantine icons.
Erinn has been homeschooling her four children over the last seven years, and has been enjoying the flexibility to create arts and crafts with them over the years. She and her family attend St. Laurence Catholic Church were she and her husband are coordinators for the altar server ministry and lead a small Christian community group. In her spare time she loves cooking, traveling, creating art, crafting, and spending time with her family. She is excited to share in creating beauty and exploring art with her Form 2 Art Explorations students at Bluebonnet.
