Mrs. Martha Vega
Martha Vega is from Bogota, Colombia. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at University of Americas, she worked for Brown and Root in Bogota in Human Resources. In 2000 she moved to the United States to pursue a career in Education and acquired her certification as EC-4 Bilingual Teacher in 2005. An experienced teacher, Martha has over eight years of experience in the public schools teaching pre-kindergarten through 4th-grade dual language and bilingual classes. She is trained in balanced literacy, language acquisition, support for second language learners, and early childhood practices. She provided input for curriculum updates at the Goose Creek District, and taught summer school and piloted new lessons in the classroom. In addition to traditional classroom teaching, Martha has several years of private tutoring experience working with hundreds of students of all ages.
Martha loves children and finds it very rewarding to work with them and discover creative ways to reach them. “Every child is different, special, and unique. I am always able to learn something new from every child. I can’t wait to help your child become a Spanish Speaker and expose him/her to lots of new learning experiences.”
