Mrs. Rebecca Yanez
Campus Coordinator
Rebecca has enjoyed homeschooling her children for more than ten years. Her favorite parts of homeschooling remind her of her favorite childhood memories: learning to read with her mother, visiting family throughout the United States, traveling, and meeting new people as well as the opportunity for hands-on learning. Raised as a daughter of an army colonel, Rebecca Yanez enjoyed living abroad, visiting interesting places, and meeting new people. After her dad retired from the military, her family called Albuquerque, New Mexico, their home. It is in the “Land of Enchantment” that she met her husband, Anthony, and also graduated from New Mexico State University with honors, double-majoring in Government and Law & Society, with a minor in Communications. After nearly 20 years of marriage and several moves, the Yanez family now gladly calls Houston their home. Prior to serving as a homeschool mother, Rebecca owned a non-profit consulting business, specializing in fundraising, board development and special events, some of which included: Points of Light Tribute to President Bush, 41@80- Salute to President George H. W. Bush, and CityFest Houston with Luis Palau. In her spare time, she loves volunteering at church (hopefully organizing something), being outside (yes, even in Houston), joining her friends for mud-runs or half-marathons (only if they will do a relay with her), and is always up for a competitive game night!
