Thank you for attending our informational event for prospective families! If Bluebonnet Home Scholars Collaborative (BHSC) seems like a great fit for your family, here are the next steps in the admissions and enrollment process:
Complete Placement Tests
Placement tests are required for all students entering any of the following classes at BHSC: all traditional math for all grade levels, English Language Arts (ELA) classes for grades 2–6, and the following high school sciences—Accelerated Studies in Physics & Chemistry (ASPC), Honors Chemistry, and Honors Physics. These tests and the parent instructions can be found in the respective Google Classrooms linked below.
All placement tests must be completed and results submitted, and past educational references must be received, prior to the next step, which is an invitation to the family interview.
Select the appropriate button(s) below to access the placement tests you need:
Checking Educational References
In addition to submission of placement tests, we require past educational references from the past three years for prospective students before we send invitations to interview. If you would like to request a family interview, please email us that we may check the references you provided in the supplemental portion of your application. If you did not provide a non-family reference, please note that your application will be considered incomplete and will not be processed. Please be aware that it sometimes takes references several days or weeks to respond to our requests. A delayed response from past educational references will delay the family’s admission decision. For students who have never been in an educational environment outside the home, please reach out to us and we will find an alternative means of checking references.
Requesting a Family Interview
After completing any required placement tests, and after receipt of past educational references, the next step in the admissions and enrollment process is to schedule and complete a family interview.
Please submit math, ELA, or high school science placement tests before registering for an interview. If you are certain you do not wish to enroll in math, ELA, or high school science with BHSC, you may schedule your interview without placement tests. Please email us to let us know that you do not need placement tests, and include a list of the classes you would like to enroll in. We will reach out if we have openings in your desired classes with our interview availability at that time.
Note: Families completing their interviews prior to March 16 will be considered in the first batch of 26–27 admissions decisions; families interviewing after March 16 are likely to be placed on a waiting list.
Thank you for your interest in partnering with BHSC in your homeschool journey!
