Mrs. Lorena Carreno
Instructor of Spanish
Mrs. Lorena Carreño graduated from the Universidad Catolica of Costa Rica with a Bachelor’s degree in English Teaching. She is also a mother of a 6-year-old child with special needs born in Costa Rica and being raised in Texas.
Before moving to Texas, Mrs. Carreño volunteered for a non-profit named El Niño y La Bola. The program consisted of tutoring and encouraging kids in their studies so they could have a better future, especially by learning to speak more than one language. Mrs. Carreño also has experience working in a kindergarten in Costa Rica where she loved designing active and creative classes. Once her family moved to the United States, she decided to homeschool her son, which has been her biggest challenge as a teacher but also the most satisfying and special.
When she was 8 years old, Mrs. Carreño’s family moved from Colombia, where she was born, to Costa Rica where she grew in faith and values. There she met her husband who is one of the most important people in her life; he is her support and best friend. Together they have dedicated themselves to raising a Christian family built on love, respect, and forgiveness. They are very grateful to be the parents of a kind, energetic, gentle, and loving boy.
Lore, as she loves to be called by her friends and peers, is excited to start this new adventure at Bluebonnet Scholars where she will be teaching both sections of Form 1 Spanish.
