Mrs. Natasha Estes
Co-Founder, Treasurer of the Board, Instructor of Handicrafts
Born in Druhzkovka, Ukraine, Natalya (Natasha) Estes trained and worked as a professional tailor making custom clothing for several years. After moving to Texas, Natasha opened and ran her own business, Morton Street Tailor, in Richmond, for five years, before becoming a mother to Anna. Natasha volunteered at Calvary Episcopal School preparing costumes for school plays, working in the school library, and assisting with student activities. It didn’t take her long to decide, however, that her heart was for homeschooling, and she began studying and implementing Charlotte Mason’s approach to education. Natasha enjoys the many freedoms and benefits of homeschooling, especially quality family time and the many opportunities to enrich the learning experience and to work at the student’s individual pace. Natasha taught craft classes at STAR with SCCHE for two years after becoming proficient from self-study. She now enjoys teaching handicrafts at BHSC where she helps guide students in developing skills in areas such as sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, macramé, weaving, working with clay, and wood burning.
