Mr. Steve Bolman
Instructor of Accelerated Chemistry
With over three decades of experience as a Water Process Engineer, Steve Bolman P.E. (Inactive) has characterized his role as a Subject Matter Expert in “Practicing High School Chemistry as a Profession.” With enthusiasm and respect for aqueous phase reactions and processes, Steve has supported the energy, mining and chemical industries by designing and supplying specialized full-scale process equipment. Additionally, with many years as a pure consultant to operating companies in design startup and commissioning of Subsea equipment (Flow Assurance), Steve has a never ending supply of real world examples involving chemical reaction equilibria, state change, reaction kinetics, and stoichiometry.
A lifetime learner, Steve completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (with a minor in chemistry), after having served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic (’80–’83), spending a year as a volunteer in Mission, serving at a foodbank in Portland, briefly working as a Commercial Diver, and serving as a Solid Waste Inspector with Orange County (CA) Solid Waste Management. Steve understands the importance of tenacity and of developing a resilient temperament in the face of a rapidly changing techno-professional workplace.
Steve married in 1990 and raised two homeschooled daughters, who have both archived great academic, personal, and professional success. Originally from the metropolitan Los Angeles area, Steve and his family moved to Texas in 2007.
In his free time, Steve enjoys computer programming, listening to music and audio books, road trips, brisk walking, and watching Columbo with his wife Gigi. He worships at Sojourn Montrose Church and is committed to blessing your students this coming school session.
